Nigerian Teenager Offered Free Hajj Seat for His Quran Memorization Skill

IQNA – Nigeria's Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has granted a free Hajj seat to 16-year-old Ja’afar Yusuf because of his Quran memorization skill.

 

The board said the prize is due to his extraordinary ability to memorize the complete Quran and his profound understanding of its contents have earned him this honor.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Abba Yusuf, the director-general of the board, Alhaji Laminu Danbappa, highlighted Ja’afar’s exceptional talent, noting that his unwavering commitment to faith and his unparalleled grasp of every word and its context within the holy book have left a lasting impression.

In a statement issued by the board’s information officer, Sulaiman Dederi, governor Yusuf commended the young man for his dedication, perseverance, and mastery of the Quran.

He emphasised the importance of nurturing and supporting young talents such as Yusuf.

“The allocation of the Hajj seat to Yusuf who is from Goron-Dutse in Dala Local Government area serves as a token of recognition and appreciation for his exceptional achievements in Qur’an recitation and his unwavering commitment to spiritual enlightenment,” the statement noted.
