Exhibition at Blackburn Mosque Aims to Shed Light on Importance of Al-Quds

IQNA – An exhibition about Palestine and its history will be mounted in one of the biggest mosques in Blackburn, England, this weekend.

The Palestine pop-up exhibition will take place at Madina Masjid in Oak Street, and has been organized in conjunction with the Raza Mosque.

The interactive event on Sunday, January 7, aims to educate communities on the importance and history of Palestine and Jerusalem, known as Al-Quds in Arabic.  

The event will be showcasing a number of pop up exhibitions illustrating areas such as a live model of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, a timeline of the history of Palestine to current day, guides to understanding Palestine culture, plus Palestinian arts.

There will also be crafts session for children and family activities.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event. Women and children under the age of 10, are requested to attend between 11am and 4pm. Men are requested to attend between 4pm and 6pm.

Volunteers are also hoping to raise funds to support Palestinians civilians displaced by the deadly Israeli war on Gaza.

A mosque spokesperson said: “We urge all communities to attend to increase their love and support of Al Aqsa and allow us to create stronger campaigns for Palestine in 2024.”
