AL-QUDS (IQNA) – An extremist Israeli rabbi echoed the regime’s push to dehumanize Palestinians while also expressing opposition to delivering aid to people in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Rabbi Meir Mazuz, a radical rabbi and Sephardic Jewish leader, has publicly voiced his opposition to providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip where more than 11,000 people have been killed and some 27,000 others injured by Israeli strikes in the past month as a result of relentless Israeli air and ground strikes.

The regime has also blocked entry of food, fuel, and medicine as human rights organizations warn of a major humanitarian catastrophe.

According to the Israeli regime's Channel 7, Rabbi Mazuz openly disagreed with US President Joe Biden's proposal to offer humanitarian assistance to Gaza. In an offending statement, he referred to the people of Gaza as "animals" while explaining his opposition to the aid.

“We must tell Biden this: You are right, if we were dealing with people, we would send humanitarian aid to Gaza, but we are dealing with animals,” he said, Anadolu Agency reported.

This is not the first time Rabbi Mazuz has made headlines for his extremist views. He previously defended the actions of Israeli terrorist Baruch Goldstein, who carried out a deadly attack on Muslim worshippers at the Ibrahim Mosque in Hebron in 1994. Mazuz claimed that Goldstein had "prevented a very great danger" with the massacre.

Rabbi Meir Mazuz, 78, is known for his fanatic beliefs and is considered the spiritual leader of the ultra-religious Shas Party, which was founded by Sephardic Jews. The Shas Party has been part of the ruling coalitions in Israel since 1984 and currently holds 11 seats in the Knesset.

This rhetoric is not unique to Rabbi Mazuz, as Israeli minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant has previously used similar language, referring to Palestinians as "animals" and justifying harsh actions against them.

"We are fighting against humanoid animals and we will act accordingly," he said in controversial remarks.
