How to Draw Divine Mercy on Night of Qadr
The main advice about the Nights of Qadr is to seek forgiveness from God. This is among the deeds of this night which lead to the cleaning of the heart and make it ready to grow and achieve further progress.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) once said sometimes hearts rust and there is a need to remove this rust by asking God’s forgiveness and reading the Holy Quran. Istighfar means saying the phrase “astaġfiru -llāha rabbī wa-ʾatūbu ʾilayh” [Verily, I seek the forgiveness of Allah, who is my Lord and Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance] 70 times. This is among recommended deeds of Qadr night.
The human heart and soul are like a container, and as long as it is dirty, they cannot withhold divine and luminous content. Therefore, individuals need to purify this container before asking to receive any grace, mercy and care from God.
The most important issue in the Nights of Qadr is to gain knowledge. Asking for forgiveness of God, reading the Quran and praying for mercy are the grounds for obtaining grace and forgiveness, which clears the soul and heart of man.
Quran’s view of Qadr Night
According to narrations, Surah al-Qadr has been revealed about this night. God's mercy is so great on this night that God says that We revealed the Quran on this night and then says you will never know how much virtue the night of destiny has. “We sent this (the Holy Quran) down on the Night of Honor. What could let you know what the Night of Honor is!” (Surah al-Qadr, verses 1-2)
Then God says: “The Night of Honor is better than a thousand months.” (verse 3) This means that the night is worth one hundred years and that man can go the path of a century in one night.
