Quranic Plan with Over 15 Million Participants Concludes
Speaking after a ceremony held to mark the conclusion of the plan, Mohammad Hossein Mohammadzadeh said it began at the start of the holy month of Ramadan in June.
Besharat 1451 featured reading, memorization, and recitation of Surahs Mulk (the 67th Surah of the Quran) and Al-Waqi’ah (the 56th Surah) and reflection on their concepts, he said.
Mohammadzadeh said 1000 memorizers and 500 Qaris who took part in the plan’s competition attended the closing ceremony held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) mausoleum in south Tehran on Friday.
As for the plan’s name, Besharat (good news of) 1451, he noted that it points to the 1451st year since the Holy Quran was revealed.
National and local TV and Radio channels and a number of governmental bodies cooperated in organizing the programs of Besharat 1451, he stated, adding that the Quran TV was the main organizer.
Elsewhere, Mohammadzadeh said the closing ceremony was held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) mausoleum as a symbolic way of renewing allegiance with the ideals of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic.
He went on to describe the Besharat 1451 plan as one of the country’s biggest Quranic events and hoped that next year’s plan, 1452, will attract even more people.
