Participation of 4 Million Iranians in 1448 Quranic Plan
It was attended by a number of Quranic, cultural and political officials.
Hassan Garousi, director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting's (IRIB) Quran TV, in an address to the ceremony said over 4 million individuals took part in the plan.
The plan featured memorization of the verses of the Holy Quran whose themes are related to the Islamic style of life.
It included courses featuring memorization of the specified verses as well as examinations to determine how well the participants have learned the verses and their teachings and concepts.
Garousi said the plan attracted more than 12 million individuals during the past three years, which shows the great success of the Quranic program.
He added that the number of people who took the plan's courses this year showed a five-fold rise compared to the year before.
The Quranic plan is annually held in summer by the Quran TV with the aim of promoting memorization of the Holy Book and spreading the Quranic culture in society.
