Fatimah Saleh al-Khulaifi, project manager of Qatar Quranic Garden, made the remark on Tuesday while addressing the international seminar of “Islamic Perspectives on Ecosystem Management”, Al-Sharq daily reported.
Al-Khulaifi, who is the secretary of the seminar, stressed that all Divine faiths have encouraged their followers to protect the environment.
She further said the seminar aims to explore new initiatives that will support the conservation and education programmes of the Quranic Botanic Garden, associated with the importance of botanical gardens, ecosystems management and cultural heritage.
The three-day seminar has been jointly organized by the Qatar Botanical Garden and the International Union for Conservation of Nature Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM).
