The man identified as Mohammad Amin, a resident of Chitral district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, had been arrested by Chitral police on May 2, 2017, for desecrating the Holy Quran.
Police had registered an FIR (first information report) against him under the anti-terrorism law.
On Wednesday, Malakand division Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge Mohammad Arif gave a one-time life imprisonment and second time three years imprisonment along with Rs300,000 fine to the offender.
