The city’s Diamond Jubilee Hall hosted the finals, according to the Iranian Cultural Center in the country.
The contenders competed in two separate sections for men and women on memorization of the Quran.
In the end, Amir Mawlid Dundu and Summaya Hassan Suleiman won the top titles in the men and women sections, respectively.
They were awarded a house and a cash prize of 3 million shillings ($1200) each.
Minister of Health and Social Welfare Ummy Mwalimu who was present at the awarding ceremony on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan said the president is also going to give each of the winners 10 million shillings ($4,000).
The Aisha Sarwar Foundation organized the competition in cooperation with a number of private institutes.
