Tarateel Sajjadiyah Int’l Event to Kick Off in Karbala on Friday

KARBALA (IQNA) – The 9th edition of the Tarateel Sajjadiyah international program will get underway in the holy city of Karbala on Friday.

Jamal Shahrestani, head of the organizing committee made the announcement, adding that it will run for three days, the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine reported.

“Message of Knowledge and Training Scholars about Seerah and Legacy of Imam Sajjad (AS)” is the motto of this year’s edition, he noted.

Shahrestani added that the program includes scholarly forums and seminars, slated for Saturday and Sunday.

He said a number of Arab and Muslim countries, including Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Turkey, Bahrain, Palestine and Saudi Arabia will take part in the three-day event.

Also participating are a number of Iraqi universities such as the University of Karbala, the University of Baghdad, and the University of Dhi Qar, he noted.

Shahrestani went on to say that a book fair will be held at the Bain ul-Haramayn (an area between the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala) on the sidelines of the program.

The Tarateel Sajjadiyah event is annually held by the Astan of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sajjad (AS).
