Addressing the fourth gathering of officials of Quran radio stations in the Islamic world, Mohamed Salem Walad Boake said Quran radios can play a major role in raising awareness among the youths and immunizing them against extremist and radical ideologies, al-Misriyun daily reported.

The international event kicked off in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on January 28.

Combatting extremism is the main theme of the three-day meeting.

The participants discuss the role of Quran radios in countering extremism and radicalism.

The IBU has organized the event in cooperation with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and Egypt’s National Media Society (NMS).
